Job Description:

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a senior level professional position that provides a range of services to the Office of Public Affairs & Communications (PAC) in the areas of public information/communications, public relations, marketing, customer service, project management, data and analytics. The incumbent contributes to the PAC division’s success by delivering captivating multimedia products and “experiences” that leave a lasting impact on the agency’s audiences. Duties include but are not limited to content creation using video, photography, graphics, illustrations, and sound. The Senior Multimedia Specialist creates media and design products for various mediums including print publications, PowerPoint presentations, infographics, videos (i.e., web based courses, training videos, etc.), social media (including YouTube), and other interactive entertainment/media.

The incumbent works with the PAC division to create video and audio post­production; storytelling, storyboarding, and messaging for specific audiences. This position requires extensive knowledge in the area of media communications, publication layout and design, and multimedia products that attract and engage specific audiences. The employee independently works on standard or fundamental duties and receives limited supervision. Most work is evaluated by the supervisor to determine if the contents are appropriate and in the best interest of HOC. Work involves an assortment of different tasks, which will have a direct impact on the operation of the Public Affairs & Communications division. The work requires providing guidance and direct supervision and mentorship to interns and junior multimedia team members, fostering their growth and development. This position may involve supervision of other graphic design, photographer and videography staff and consultants.

 

ESSENTIALS DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete layout and design of a range of materials including flyers, ads, PowerPoint presentations, invitations, reports, etc.
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce multimedia content, including videos, animations, graphics, and audio elements, aligning with the company's brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver multimedia solutions that effectively communicate key messages.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end multimedia production process, from storyboarding and scriptwriting to post­production editing and final delivery.
  • Edit and enhance existing multimedia assets to maintain consistency and ensure high quality standards across all materials.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in multimedia production, and propose innovative ideas to elevate our multimedia content.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of multimedia projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to established standards in multimedia content.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in video editing, graphic design, animation, and audio production.
  • Excellent understanding of storytelling techniques, visual aesthetics, and multimedia production best practices.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, effectively communicate ideas, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all multimedia deliverables.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of current trends and advancements in multimedia production, with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, and two years of relevant experience, in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education
