Program Description: First Generation College Bound and HOC are working together to make your college dreams come true! The program will offer an array of programs and services throughout your junior and senior year that will help you to successfully graduate high school and prepare for college admissions. This includes one-on-one coaching and student mentoring by FGCB’s College Success Coach, assistance with SAT preparation, FAFSA completion, college admission procedures, and more. Upon registration, you will receive further instructions on how to complete FGCB’s registration process to include the one-time payment of $25. Limited spots available and services provided on a first come first served basis.
Please note that calendar of events, coaching and mentoring sessions, workshops, etc. will be provided throughout the course of the academic year. Program workshops and mentoring sessions are mandatory for students. Parent/Guardian must participate in scheduled information sessions prior to registration. Program Description: Do you need know how to find and navigate available resources? Resident Services will host monthly resource sharing sessions monthly. This is an opportunity for participants to learn about available resources in Montgomery County and at HOC to include food resources, wellness, financial assistance resources for emergencies, employment, tuition assistance, etc. The sessions are offered on the third Tuesday of each month in the evening. Staff will provide information on how to navigate services. This will also provide a space for participants to inquire about their resource needs. In addition, this will be an opportunity for participants to learn about the services offered by the Resident Services Division. Must register online to participate. The workshop combines effective strategies and information on available resources that can help a resident to successfully maintain his/her housing.
